Calmness

Calmness--how peaceful it is. Today as I observed I took a different approach, instead of observing the wild life in my backyard I decided to just listen. As I listened I heard the sounds of birds chirping, I didn't bothering looking at them--just listened. I continue to listen and as I hear birds chirping, in the background I hear passing cars. It sounded like a busy morning because I heard one car after another no stop. My backyard isn't too far from a street so that's why I was able to hear them pass. There was a slight wind this morning so along with all the other noises once again in the background the sound of leaves clashing with each other were heard and they made a wonderful sound. What I got out of today while observing is when taking the time to just listen, just listen and nothing else; wonderful sounds will be heard.

The Change we See

                                                            (Taken by Sergio Campos)

As we all witness in Autumn the leaves of many trees begin to change color. According to Science made Simple the change of color in the leaves is due to photosynthesis. When Autumn comes the days become shorter and there is not enough light or water. With that there is not a lot of light which plants need in order to have photosynthesis occur. When Autumn arrives, since there is not enough light or or water the trees will live off the food they had stored during the summer. They will stop photosynthesis from occurring and the chloroplasts will disappear. That is why the leaves change color and its all because of photosynthesis.

Arachnids!

                                                            (Taken by Sergio Campos)

Spiders are interesting in my opinion, for instance the spider in the picture above is a very small spider and it was able to build that web.  The web is about six inches in diameter and the spider is about one centimeter or less. Amazingly that little spider made it. I wonder how it still survives because daily I observe it and there are no bugs in sight on the web. I don't know what kind of spider it is but I did research and I wasn't able to find the exact spider like the one in the picture, I did notice that it is hairy and has black or brown marks on its abdomen top and bottom. I do also wonder if it is a baby or an adult. I haven't seen bigger spiders near by other than his neighbor the long-bodied cellar spider also known as the daddy long leg. The day I spotted the spider on it's web and I continued to observe closer I then saw the daddy long leg, it didn't do much but stay still. Some say that the daddy long leg is harmless because of its small fangs and some say that they eat bugs. So back to the unknown spider who knows if it's poisonous or not, that's a scary thought to be honest. I will continue to observe it to see if it grows or if it disappears or just to waist time because spiders are interesting like I said before.

Autumn

(Taken by Sergio Campos)

Autumn, my favorite season. The beauty of trees when their leaves turn from green to bright red, orange, yellow and all sorts of different colors. The weather is cool and windy. I love observing the leaves falling and being blown away with the wind. It's neat to pay attention to the way the leaves flow with the wind, it seems as if they have a mind of their own when they flow in sync. When watching the leaves flow you can see the pattern or in which direction the wind blows, some flow straight in uniform and some leaves are just scattered like little bugs. Another thing about autumn that I like is being able to wear sweaters--I sweater weather! So for the people who love the fall season have fun, observe the leaves, enjoy the weather, buddle up and enjoy the season as I will too.
